While we're at it, let's take that whole embarassing slavery thing out of
the US history books. It wasn't really a very good idea in the first place,
not to mention terribly politically incorrect. And nobody will ever want to
know any details, we're pretty sure. After a while, it will be a rumor, then
a myth, then forgotten.

:)

I suspect that this kind of editing of history is not unintentionally
difficult and fraught with peril.
