problems with accented chars in url checkout

Hi, there
I've been using svn for a while and it seems great. I was using svn in standalone development but now, there is another fellow along. Since we are brazilians, we use several accented chars and they're probably causing some problems when one try to check out via a url a project which uses some files with accented chars such as "Licença de autorização.doc" or which contains some of those chars. It is shown a checksum error but this happens only when the checkout is done via url. When I use a file path, everything goes fine. Is there a known issue? Has anyone faced a similar problem?
Thanks in advance,
André Felipe Dias
