RE: server timeout among other failures

Hiya,

I don't think that anyone else already replied to you about this - This is a
known issue on ms-windows :-( D.J. Heap (hope I got the name correct?) has
made a lot of investigation into this and there is no resolution yet.
It seems to be a timing-related issue with windows file management.
I've had this problem once as well with SVN. I've also heard that NT-CVS
suffers from the same problem. No acceptable workaround has been found yet,
afaik.

Subject: server timeout among other failures

Let me preface this with: Yes, I have disabled http compression in
absolutely all config files and registry settings. Yes, I have removed
every trace of mod_deflate in my apache config.

Now here's the problem:

C:\code\svn\trunk\project>svn ci

Sending file1

Sending file2

Sending file3

Transmitting file data ................svn: A problem occurred; see later
errors for details

svn: Commit succeeded, but other errors follow:

svn: Problem running log

svn: Error bumping revisions post-commit (details follow):

svn: in directory 'C:/code/svn/trunk/project'

svn: start_handler: error processing command 'committed' in
'C:/code/svn/trunk/project'

svn: error replacing text-base: file2

svn: Access is denied.

svn: svn_io_file_rename: can't move 'C:/code/svn/trunk/project/file2.tmp' to
'C:/code/svn/trunk/project/file2'

C:\code\svn\trunk\project>svn st -u

[seemingly successful output]

C:\code\svn\trunk\project>svn up

svn: RA layer request failed

svn: GET of /svn/!svn/ver/3650/trunk/project/file3: timed out waiting for
server (http://lacuna)

Client: 0.25.0 on Win2K

Server: 0.25.0/apache 2.0.47 on Redhat 7.2

There aren't any permission problems (e.g. file2 is not locally locked or
write protected) that I know of. I have seen this problem a couple of time
recently, but only since 0.25.0 was released. So which list message did I
miss containing Very Important Instructions on how to alleviate this
problem? :)
