TortoiseMerge Broken in v1.9.5

When I try to double-click a path in the log, TortoiseMerge opens and does
nothing, as if I had opened it from the Start menu.

When I try to double-click a path in the commit dialog, I get a question
about what I want to do with changes made outside of the application.
Depending on what I press, TortoiseMerge then reverts my uncommitted file.
This is causing severe data loss.

Any ideas what to do other than re-install and/or downgrade to a version
that worked before?
