Hi,
Thanks for taking time to take a look at the crash dumps.

>> your hocking DLL is from 2007, so very old. update the nvidia GPU driver this may fix it, because you get the crash while Scintilla does Direct2D operations <<
I'm not sure why it would be so old. The fact that the problem seemed to be with the NVIDIA driver reminded me that a little while ago I had a graphics issue with a different application. I now believe the cause of that problem to have been that the application was using DirectX11 and seemed to assume that all features were present, whereas my system didn't support some of the optional features.
However, in the course of investigating that issue I installed the latest stable drivers from the NVIDIA site, rather than using the OEM drivers from Dell (I'm using a Precision M3800). I'd have expected the drivers to be very new - not very old. For maximum stability I've reinstalled the Dell OEM drivers for both the NVIDIA and Intel graphics adapters. That didn't fix the issue.
>> you can also disable ScintillaDirect2D in advanced TSN options and look if it fixes it <<
Fortunately, changing the ScintillaDirect2D setting from true to false seems to fix the issue.
>> But to see more, you need to capture a FUll dump (not a mini) with pageheap enabled for TortoiseProc.exe. <<
I have a solution and don't want to waste anyone's time reviewing further dump files. However, I can certainly run further tests, if it would help anyone else. Just let me know and I'll generate the full dumps with the pageheap included.
Thanks again.
Bruce
