Okay, thanks very much for the information. I checked the processes on the FreeBSD server and I see this:
635 - Is 0:00.00 /usr/local/bin/svnserve -d --listen-port=3690 --listen-host 127.0.0.1 -r /var/svn/repos
I am not running Apache on this box so I assume that it's the second method you referred to above. So I tried the checkout method and it looked like it was about to work but I get these error messages:
Unable to connect to a repository at URL 'svn://10.0.0.8/var/svn'
There is no firewall running on the FreeBSD server.
