Sure, the nightly build is pretty stable. I'm using that exclusively :)
Also, the current nightly build is now using the 1.9.x branch of the svn
project, which is the stabilization branch for the upcoming 1.9 release.
So even that is stable now.

And 1.9 should be ready soon.
