What is the best way of 'ensuring' everything is committed if you have no way of finding out what might have been added or removed; e.g. a specific file in a directory?

Would it work if one would simply select all files (or the root folder) every time and choose 'Add...' in order for everything to be included, just in case something might have been added that you wouldn't know about?

Or would 'Add...' only work if applied to individual files that you wish to add to the commit?

Thank you,
