The XML response contains invalid XML

Hello,
I have a file that suddenly will not allow me to commit to the repository, and will not allow me to update from the repository. When I try to commit, I get the following error:
Commit failed
File... is out of date
Item ... is out of date
You have to update your working copy first.

When I try to update my working copy, I get the following error:
The XML response contains invalid XML.

I've tried deleting the file from the repository and re-adding it but it will not allow me to -- same commit error. I've tried re-naming the file before committing, and that allows me to commit to the repository, but as soon as I rename it back to its original name (the correct name that I want to keep) the error comes back.

I have a co-worker who is able to commit/update the file with no problem. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling TortoiseSVN v.1.8.10.26129 and VisualSVN v4.0.11 but I still get the errors.

Any ideas on how I can get this resolved. I actually now have 2 files that are giving me the error.
