The issue is fixed for good, but only on trunk. The change won't get
merged to the stable branch because it relies on new APIs that are not
available there (in svn 1.8).

For the release versions, this works most of the time, but as you've
noticed not in all situations. Sorry, but you have to live with this
until 1.9 is ready, or you can use a nightly build from trunk.
