TortoiseSVN not picking up changes in working copy:

I am running TortoiseSVN 1.8.8, Build 25755 - 64 Bit , 2014/08/10 14:44:06, on a 64bit Win7 Enterprise machine.

Recently Tortoise stopped picking up changes that I make to my working copy: The shell icon is green/checked, if I try to commit, Tortoise tells me "nothing changed, nothing to commit" but there ARE changes to my working copy, and if I 'diff with previous version' the differences between SVN's version and my working copy are visible, even though the icons are green and I can't commit the changes. (The url's for the SVN files linking to working copies are correct - I checked that .)

I updated my working directories from Tortoise, ran SVN cleanup on all the relevant directories, including 'update icon overlays' , bounced my machine - no change. Did a repair install - no change. I removed Tortoise completely and did a fresh install, bounced my machine -- still the same.

So this is a big problem - I have a number of very important changes for a pending build that I cannot commit. The only way I can commit them is to go through the files on by one, find the changes with diff and do a trivial change with whitespace so I can commit. Obviously this is time consuming and I may miss some of my changes - I rely on TortoiseSVN to track my changes and now it's failing.

How can I fix this? What might be the problem?
