TortoiseSVN 1.8.8 Check for modifications context menu bug

Dear TortoiseSVN devs,
Under TortoiseSVN 1.7.x, I could select multiple co folders -- (results of running svn co against two repo locations from the same local windows folder) -- and select "Check for modifications" via the explorer context menu.
This would provide me with an accurate set of results containing all files changed from both checkout folders.
In TortoiseSVN 1.8.8, however, when I do this, the GUI freezes and the only thing that really happens is that TortoiseProc.exe memory usage climbs to 3 GB within 30 seconds. I have to kill this process manually or else my development station freezes.
Please try to replicate this issue and perhaps fix it if possible. The other possibility is that it's a server-side issue with migrating from 1.7 to 1.8 -- I'm not sure.
Thank you for your generous volunteer efforts and great work!
Sincerely,
John Argentieri
