I know what you mean.

I even don't want to discuss which wiki syntax would the best and markdown was just a synonym and one syntax u could live with.

Since I'm not a subversion administrator, not in the role to install some commit message (post) processing, i would be glad to have such a wiki syntax inside the commit message and a related rendering in the log.

But … since many colleagues don't write long commit messages, and won't like to learn such syntax the advantages eventually wouldn't be that great.
