I found the translation in
https://translate.apache.org/export/Subversion/de/de.po
(first hit when searching for "cleanup"),
and if I view it with Internet Explorer and encoding "westeuropaeisch (windows)", i.e. ansi / iso5589-15 (?),
I see the A-with-hat symbols, when I switch to "utf-8", everything looks OK.
Is it possible that Tortoise SVN receives a string from the svn library and treats it as
windows/ansi encoded, but should treat it as UTF-8?
(With normal German text you would not see a difference between UTF-8 and ansi encoding)
