New User: Confused about 'reverting reverts'

Hi, non expert here. Hope someone can point out what I'm missing / confused about. Skip to '4.' for the question I have about TortoiseSVN. Earlier parts are background info.

1. Yesterday, I tried out a program that I had checked out to my computer. It worked (mostly).

2. Today, I updated to the latest revision and ran it. It crashed on start up.

3. I used 'Revert to this Revision' from the log to go back to the revision (I think) I was using yesterday and ran it. It crashed on start up. The crash, therefore, does not seem to be specific to the latest revision after all.

4. How do I reverse the earlier 'revert' action I made? I tried "SVN Update" and it said 'OK' but didn't seem to add / change any of the files that should have been added/changed.

Thanks in advance. :)
