Ah, I did not realize it worked this way, I expected the log messages
to be grayed out.

I can confirm that selecting the "Hide non-mergeable revisions" hides
the revisions prior to the branch point.

A small issue that looks like a bug:

If I select "Hide non-mergeable revisions" when "Stop on copy/rename"
is also selected, the end of the displayed log messages shows the text
"For complete history deselect 'Stop on copy/rename'" as if the log
messages were hidden due to a branch. This is not the reason the
messages are hidden, but if I deselect "stop on copy/rename" all the
hidden log messages do in fact get shown. If I then deselect "Hide
non-mergeable revisions" and reselect it, the unmergeable revisions
get hidden again, this time without the "For complete history..."
message.
