This sounds similar to the issue that you linked to, but I think it is
different. The one reported by Geoff related to servers older than 1.5
and the bug only appeared in 1.8.1.
Can you try the subversion command line client. If that also shows an
error then the bug is within the subversion library and you need to
report it on the subversion users mailing list.
