FYI, most mail list software allows a parameter to specify which email address you want to unsubscribe (a confirmation request is then sent to that address so that just anyone can not unsubscribe others).
Also, sending an email with any From: address is trivial. You can do it on gmail.com , outlook.com and probably other mail providers too.
