svn:keywords when applied recursively apply to binaries too in TortoiseSVN 1.8.1 Build 24570 64bit 2013/07/22 18:28:29

Dear Users,
Applying svn:keywords to a directory recursively applies it to every file, including binary files. Binary files have a high likelihood of containing corresponding makers such as "$Id$", particularly executables containing debugging information. Substituting these markers in a binary file may corrupt them.
I suggest that svn:keywords when applied recursively to a directory or if an attempt is made to apply them to a file identified as mime-type application/octet-stream then the application of the keyword to that file should fail. In the case of the former it should do so silently.
Best Regards,
Carl G. Pettit
