Sorry, I read your response as "here are reasons against an option
that turns on that checkbox every time you launch a new dialog
regardless of whether it was set before".

No argument here...I see there are good reasons not to have that
checkbox checked unless you really want it right now. it just feels a
little quirky that some checkboxes are remembered, but others are not.
