Em... OK... I'm not familiar with this terminology, sorry.

Yep, they work correctly. As I've mentioned in original message (see steps 9 and 10), "dir" and "mkdir 1‐2" are OK. I've just tested "notepad 1‐2.txt", and it's OK too.
Though, note, step 7 - otherwise none of above would work correctly.
