SVNserve - newbie question

Hi All

We are new to TortoiseSVN.
We already have a Subversion server set up elsewhere.
We downloaded the latest TortoiseSVN installer - we assume the
tortoisesvn client is installed once we install the 1.7 TortoiseSVN
msi installer.
Do we still need to install SVNserve to use with our subversion server
and the tortoisesvn client ?

Apologise for the newbie questions.
