My crystal ball is fully utilised trying to work out what my wife
wants for Christmas. Please be more specific. What did you do, what
did you expect to happen, what actually happened?

If you checkout a working copy then by default you get everything that
is in the repository for that folder. If you need folders at a higher
level then make a fresh checkout from the correct level. If you use
sparse checkouts then refer to the manual on how to include more
items.
