The background threads run successfully, all data is fetched from the
repository.
So the log files don't show any useful info here.

Please get procdump:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/dd996900.aspx

start TSVN and as soon as it hangs, run
procdump -ma tortoiseproc
to get a dump file. Please send me that dump.
