diff-doc.js not working with signed document

TortoiseSVN 1.6.16, Build 21511 - 32 Bit
Windows 7 Professional, 32 bits
Microsoft Office 2007 SP3

I created a .doc file (format compatible with Word 2003),
committed it, modified it locally and compared it with
the previous revision with TortoiseSVN -> diff.
The comparison worked OK.

Later on, I digitally signed the document (Office button ->
Prepare -> Add digital signature) and committed it.

Then, I had to modify the document, so I opened it,
removed the signature and modified it.

Now, if I try to compare it with the previous version
(that is, the signed one) with TortoiseSVN -> diff, an
error occurs:

Windows Script Host
Error comparing xxx.doc and
...\Temp\xxx.doc-revBASE.svn000.tmp.doc

However, If I compare the signed document with
the modified document directly within Word, the
comparison works OK.

I have tried with other simpler documents, signed
and unsigned, and the behaviour is as described
above in all cases.

Signed documents in Word are protected from edition in
some way, so perhaps the root cause lies there.

I downloaded the last (trunk) revision of diff-doc.js
and compared it with the one from TortoiseSVN 1.6.16,
and the small changes does not seem to affect the result,
although, admittedly, I have not tested it.

Regards.
