SVN 1.7.7 Repo-Browser inits very slowly

Using WindowsServer2008. In WindowsExplorer, right-click on a workingcopy and select SVN->Repo-browser. The initial repobrowser window appears but with no data.
Wait 15+ minutes and MAYBE the data will appear. Or maybe not.
I disabled "RepoBrowserPrefetch" and "RepoBrowserShowExternals", but it still takes a LONG time to show the data.
This did not happen with SVN 1.6.<something> on the same repo. It only started happening when I upgraded my client to 1.7.7 and upgraded all my workingcopies.
