That url does not exist. If you browse to
http://android-wifi-tether.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/
you can see that there's no folder android-wifi-tether-read-only.

I guess you copied the line from the checkout page here:
https://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/source/checkout
but that one's the example for the command line client. The
'android-wifi-tether-read-only' is the parameter for the target
directory when using the command line client.

Only specify the URL, nothing more when checking out with TSVN.
