Slow at "Include Merge Revisions"

I've ticked the option to "Include Merge Revisions" when viewing the
log, but it is slow as a dog - Is it possible to have it load and
render the currently transmitted log information and expand it as time
goes by. To wait for this to complete before being able to see
anything is a hindrance. I know I can click cancel, and view the
currently loaded merged data, but it would be nice to have it load the
data dynamically as I mouse over and expand it.
