Compatibility: TortoiseSVN 1.7x and Subversion 1.6

I'm beginning to use a software product that has a built-in interface to Subversion 1.6 but will not work with 1.7x.

I've been using TortoiseSVN 1.7 for a good while now and would prefer not to have to go back to 1.6.

My question is this: if I install a 1.6 version of the command line client on the same Windows 7 pc that contains my TortoiseSVN 1.7x, will it overwrite any files previously installed by TortoiseSVN 1.7x? Or, more broadly, will the two installs interfere with each other in any way?
