UPDATE // FOLLOW UP:
Whenever I chose something from the first SVN entry in the right click context menu the following error is displayed:
TortoiseProc Launch failed
The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.
PATH
The path to my network folder is:
\\s092\projects\_svn\closedSourceOne
I've also tried mapping the folder as a separate drive but that did not make any difference.
