It is already ported to the 1.7.x branch of Tortoise (the issue
mentions commit numbers). Note that nightly binaries are available for
1.7.x.

Credits for fixing the issue are to Stefan. It is just that the issue
169 is the cause behind every second thread on this mailing list
lately.
