How about if Tortoise were to do this:

* If IDs are all numeric, sort numerically.
* Otherwise, sort alphabetically.

I reckon that would be good for everyone. But what do you think--would anyone be unhappy with that? I.e., would anyone complain, "Hey, I wanted my numeric IDs sorted alphabetically, not numerically"?
