dialog problem selective checkout

Hello,

When I do a fresh checkout and select 'choose items' I get a selection dialog with all files selected.
When I click the parent item, all the files are deselected, but the check mark for the parent persists.
When I click the parent item again, I expect all sub items to become selected again. Nothing happens.

The same behaviour for sub folders.

In similar situations in other programs I typically see tri-state check boxes (e.g. installers which allow the selection of installed options. These deselect all sub-items when the parent is deselected, select all sub-items when the parent is selected and partially select the parent if not all sub-items are selected. )

Is this possible in the 'choose items' dialog?
