Apparently you're confusing something here. The cache process which does
the crawling is a completely separate process and has nothing,
absolutely nothing at all to with any TSVN dialog at all.

And I really don't understand all the fuss about this: all that happens
in case there's an error is that there are no overlay icons for about
two minutes.

Something which happens rarely, or if not then you really should either
check your virus scanner (or maybe get a better one), other apps that
might access the working copy database - or do a fresh checkout of your
working copy since it might be that it's corrupted.

I've seen this happening on my machine maybe twice in the last three
months, and I'm using TSVN extensively as you might imagine.
