Tortoise freezes on windows 7 64 bit

I am having difficulty with tortoise svn 1.7.1 on Windows 7 Pro SP1.

We have an svn server over https with several repositories on it. Other people are able to use tortoise fine, others use Cornerstone (mac) just fine. I, however, can't get tortoise to not freeze when locking or committing. I have tried re-installing, deleting my working copies and recreating them, and the problems still exist. Any ideas, or know where a log file is that I can glance through?
