I upgraded to Tortoise v1.7 this morning. I followed the steps in the release notes to upgrade the working directory.
I managed to make a few changes to my source code and commit them OK. I made a few more changes, and now cannot commit due
to some working copy being locked. [screen shot] :

I tried locking the whole working directory (including stealing locks), and then unlocking again. The problem persists.
After a reboot, the problem persists.
        Any ideas?

Have you already tried "clean up"?

It has help me today, when an update crashed on me.
