Check for modification shows a folder that has nothing to commit

There's nothing to commit in my working copy. All folders and files has the
green icon. But when I select "Check for modifications" in my root folder a
particular subfolder is shown with a little red point in the folder icon and
a status of "Normal(s)". Just the folder is shown, no files are shown. When
I select that particular folder and select "Check for modifications" there's
no modified files.
What does it mean that folder with the red point? I guess that something is
wrong in my working copy or repository, but I can't determine what.
Thanks in advance.
