inter-repository externals commits in one go

Talking of the externals property, I'm aware that you have to commit
each external folder separately if the externals point to another
repository:
"If the external project is in a different repository, any changes you
make to the external project will be notified when you commit the main
project, but you have to commit those external changes separately."
http://tortoisesvn.net/docs/nightly/TortoiseSVN_en/tsvn-dug-externals.html

Would it be possible to opt in to commit all the changes at once
though? It would be amazing if the grayed out external changes could
be ticked?

The lack of such a feature is a serious problem for us, because we
have worked out a product line infrastructure that relies on a lot of
distributed shared code, implemented with about 10 externals folders
per project. Developers will likely be very slow to commit their
externals changes if they have to manually remember each folder and
then manually commit each folder, or they may not commit them at all :

Any help would be much appreciated!
