I added

http-library = serf

to the bottom of

C:\Documents and Settings\Nancy\Application Data\Subversion\servers

Now, when I create a brand new file and try to commit the change, I
get ...

Error: Commit failed (details follow):
Error: File 'xxzzy.txt' already exists

but it really isn't in the repository ...
