If you use unencrypted access to the repository (like http), it might be
a (personal) firewall, proxy or IDS interfering with the http stream.

You may use a tool like wireshark to analyze the traffic between client
and server. (Be careful when sharing the wireshark logs with others,
they may contain passwords and similar credentials).
