SSL handshake- commit failed

I have a linux SVN repository and a tortoise client version1.6.15....

Authentication is via LDAP. However every time I change my password ,
while I can browse the repository and checkout files , I get the below
error while doing a commit.

Error: handshake failed: An existing connection was forcibly closed by
the remote host.
