Set working folder - Checkout depth

I recently moved from VSS to SVN.

One main problem I found is there is no option like "Set working folder" at the root and all subfolders derive from the root path.
For every folder in SVN, we need to checkout to a directory. Also there is no option for file level checkout, so the whole list of files get checkedout.

Checkout depth needs an option to Get all folders without files(with recursive option). This will help very much setup a root working folder.
