Having working folder located on network drive

Hi All,

I have recently set up a windows SVN server at my work.
My colleagues and I are using Tortoise as it's an excellent piece of
software.

A few of the users are experiencing various errors when working with
their working directories, these are on a windows mapped drive (so
that non-committed changes are backup).
The errors are usually to do with the temporary files being read-only.

Is having the working copy on a network drive a valid set up?
I know that you shouldn't have the repository on a network drive is
not supported but that's not what I mean here, I have an Apache server
for the repository back-end.

Thanks,
Craig
