With Visual Studio, heck all development I highly recommend you create a dev root in your Home User folder. Call it "development" or "projects"... set your virus scanner to ignore it and any sub-folders. Put all your working copies in this folder.

Go into Visual Studio Tools -> Options -> Projects and Solutions, and set the "Project Location" to the dev root folder you just created.

So your project are no longer in My documents which as you say does work then your problem is solved.

In the words of John Hodgeman... "You're Welcome".
