Copying lines of code in TortoiseMerge

Under certain circumstances, TortoiseMerge does not copy selected
lines to the clipboard when asked to do so. None of <Ctrl-C>,
Edit->Copy or [context menu]->Copy work.

Reproduction:
1) Delete any line in a file, other than the first.
2) Use TortoiseMerge to diff the modified file.
3) On the right side, select the line before the deleted line by
dragging from the left end of that line to the unnumbered line
immediately below it.
4) Attempt to copy the selection.
5) Observe that the clipboard remains unmodified.

It appears that any selection ending on an unnumbered line will not
get copied correctly.

The workaround is simple, but not (to my mind) particularly intuitive.
Instead of dragging to the immediately following line, drag to the
immediately following *numbered* line.
Alternatively, drag to the right end of the line, but this does not
copy the carriage return.

I am using:
TortoiseSVN 1.6.12, Build 20536 - 32 Bit , 2010/11/24 20:59:01
Subversion 1.6.15,
apr 1.3.8
apr-utils 1.3.9
neon 0.29.5
OpenSSL 0.9.8p 16 Nov 2010
zlib 1.2.3
