Dialog "OK" button delay

Since I updated to 1.6.12, Build 20536 (64-bit) I've been seeing about a 5 second delay between when an action confirmation dialog's OK button becomes enabled and when clicking on the OK button hase an effect. For instance, if I do a large commit, the OK button enables as soon as the commit is finished, but clicking on it (or the Windows red X "close" button on the dialog) has no effect. The button gives the button-push feedback but the dialog remains open. You must wait 5-6 seconds, at which point it will close the dialog.

Is this deliberate?
