SSL Error

Hi All,
Following from the thread at http://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbox/subversion-users/201012.mbox/%3C1292588957.6468.263.camel@nimble.325Bayport%3E I cannot access my SVN repository via https when using the latest version of TortoiseSVN.
The error that TortoiseSVN yields when I try to checkout is (I masked my domain & path):
Checkout from https://<mydomain>.com/<path>, revision HEAD, Fully recursive, Externals included
I was getting the same error code from some older versions of svn's command line app (I tried 1.6.11 and 1.6.13). But the latest version of svn.exe works fine (it prompts me to accept the certificate despite the validation errors).
As I noted in the other thread, I suspect this is due to my SSL certificate failing validation. It's self-signed and the host does not match.
Even if I try to use TortoiseSVN on a checkout that I made with svn.exe (and accepted the invalid certificate permanently), TortoiseSVN still gives this error:
Update
Any suggestions?
Nick
