Annoying focus sift from TortoiseMerge to Log window

Hi.

It has been annoying more for a while already...

Whenever I make "Show log" and the double-click on some file to get
the diff between files...
The TortoiseMerge is opened, but after a few seconds the focus is
switched back to Log window (Still the TortoiseMerge remains as
foreground window). Now if I press <Esc> the log window is closed. And
F7/SHIFT+F7 shortcuts are obviously not working also.

Windows XP SP3. Does anybody know if there is some system config
change I should make?
