Windows Explorer crashes after TortoiseSVN Install

I'm currently experiencing an issue where a computer with TortoiseSVN installed can no longer right click on files and folders.
Each time right click is attempted Windows Explorer says it encountered an error and stops.
I've looked on Google and couldn't find something relating this to Tortoise. Other people have experienced this issue for other reasons, but the install of Tortoise was the lastest change to the system.
I did talk to someone and they mentioned I might have to run the .msi in admin mode.

Has anyone else run into this issue? I was using TortoiseSVN v1.6.10 on Windows 7 Home 64 bit.

I can't access the computer this weekend, but will attempt to install v1.6.10 on my copy of Windows 7 at my home tonight.

thank you for any help.
