It's a known behaviour of PayPal, they have even shut accounts of freeware developers previously, namely foobar2000. Funny how people notice the thieves only when they're under the nose - so I assume this will happen again.

Stefan, let me ask, have you informed the administration at SourceForge? This seems to me the most effective action which you can do now, not complaining to "US Government" as others advise. Reference to foobar2000 may give weight: see discussion at http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=77427.

As for your account, I heard that you're unlikely to ever see the money again since it's the company policy to steal money like that and has nothing to do with an individual's intelligence.
